Service Unit Meeting 

August 27, 2010

 

General Information

*If you want to buy something from the Girl Scout Shop, please purchase from the store at Woodhaven so we can keep the store open

 

*Focus group is forming to review adult recognitions, contact council if interested

 

*In need of voulunteers for the Gold Award Committee, contact council if interested of being part of this committee.

 

*Defy the Sterotype is the first Saturday of October at Woodhaven

 

* Troop 20272 will be holding a Scrapbooking Day and a Father/Daughter Dance as a fundraiser for their trip to Savanah Georgia.  More information will be coming soon.

 

Take the Lead

*Council wants good retention and support new leaders

*Each "Take the Lead" will focus on this goal

*Leadership Experience is focusing on the Pathways.  Debbi will bring more information at next meeting.

 

Plan of Work

*Daisy and Brownie Welcome Back Sleepover

    - Saturday, October 23rd

    -Theme is about Juliet Gordon Low

    -Beth, Gina and Kelly N are planning

 

*Junior and Older Welcome Back Sleepover

    - Saturday, November 6th

    - Theme of Movie Night

    - The girls will decide on activities

    - Theresa, Andrea and Amber will help

* Cookie Rally/ Family Partnership

    - Father/Daughter Bowling

    -  Father get donations

    -  Date to be determined

    -  To be held at Westgate

 

*  Thinking Day

    - Is officially in February

    -  Event to be held in March

   - Team Building Activities

   -  Bring 2 best Girl Scout Ideas and 1 worst

* November 1 - Delphos Library

   - Buzz Sessions on Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards

    - Holiday Party

    - Talk about Cookies

*  January - No meeting

* February 7 - Spencerville

   - Buzz Session

*  March 7 - Delphos

   - Buzz session on Journeys

*  April 4 - Spencerville

    - Ceremonies

 

Registrations

*On-time registrations by September 30th

* We need 20 more to register to meet our goal

* Incentives:

    - Service Unit: $200 site rental

    - Girls :  Tickets to a local Athletic Event

    - Troop:  Journey Books

 

Fall Product

* Confirm button must be clicked to submit order

* Cannot be changed after you hit confirm

*  HIt Bonus total for Fall Product and then earn $.02 extra per cookie box

* October 13, sale begins

 

Training

* Lodge and Camp Training at Woodhaven on September 10th and 11th.

*Age level & Fundamentl training needs done by December.

* If you need CPR, do it at Council or Call Van Wert Visiting Nurses.
